The
mission of the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is to provide the finest in
public safety services to all residents and visitors to St. Lawrence County. To
accomplish this mission the Sheriff’s Office and its entire component divisions
pledge to work in conjunction with the other Local, State and Federal Law
Enforcement agencies and affiliated service providers to enforce and uphold all
laws and statutes for which we are responsible. By maintaining and implementing
a correct level of integrity, training, safety standards, diligent effort and
professionalism the Sheriff’s Office will continue to be a leader in law
enforcement services in St. Lawrence County and provide a safe environment for
the public and our employees.

The Sheriff’s Office Criminal
Division will serve by protecting individual rights, safe guarding
public and private property, providing emergency measures in all applicable
situations and performing all other essential law enforcement services. The
Sheriff’s Office will continue to provide and maintain modern safety and
protective equipment for all of its employees and provide the training
necessary to ensure that its employees meet and exceed the standards set
forth by the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services. Continue to meet
NYS-DCJS Accreditation Standards. The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Division
contains Road Patrol, Juvenile Division, Criminal Investigations, Drug Task
Force, K-9 and seasonal Boat and Snow patrol components.

The Sheriff’s Office
Correctional Division will maintain a safe, secure and orderly
Correctional setting that recognizes the dignity of all individuals, while
adhering to the standards and guidelines set forth by the NYS Commission of
Corrections and the applicable State and Federal laws governing Correctional
Facilities. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to provide modern safety and
protective equipment for its Correctional employees and provide the training
necessary to ensure that its employees meet and exceed the standards set
forth by the NYS Commission of Corrections. As the new Correctional Facility
is completed we will strive to establish and gain the Accreditation status
for our Correctional setting and professionals that has not been able to be
sought due to the physical conditions of the old facility.

The Sheriff’s Office Civil
Division will continue to provide a high standard of Civil Processing
and Service to St. Lawrence County and will be provided all of the necessary
software and training required to meet this standard and mandated services.
We will continue to meet NYS Sheriff’s Association Civil Accreditation
Standards.
